∗ ‘estimated turnaround time’ for each service is not a guaranteed timeframe. We work with PSA to keep this updated regularly.

∗ ‘final graded value’ represents the value of your card once graded. If your card is valued above this amount once graded it may be upcharged.

∗ Insurance – The insurance limit per card is capped to the ‘final graded value’ of your chosen service (for example TCG Bulk is capped at $200).

Understanding PSA Upcharges

When you submit with PSA, each service level has a ‘final graded value’. This is the maximum allowed value of your card once graded. PSA determines this value using multiple data sources for sales of the same card in the same grade. If your card exceeds this value once graded, PSA will apply a ‘value charge’ often referred to as an upcharge.  When this happens, PSA will contact The Sub Center to make us aware of the additional charge(s). We will then email you to notify you of this charge which you will be required to settle before we can return your card(s).An upcharge is calculated as the difference between the cost of your chosen service and the cost of the service your card should have been submitted on (based on the final graded value). As a PSA dealer we can offer discounted rates for grading, however these discounts to not apply to upcharges.As an example, if your card was sent on the ‘TCG Bulk’ service and once graded the value exceeds $200 but is less than $500 it would be ‘up charged’ into the ‘value’ tier. However, without our dealer discount applied the difference between these two services retail prices is £5 rather than our advertised £2.00 (the difference does not apply for ‘Express’ tier or above)When deciding what tier to send your cards on, you should also consider that the ‘final graded value’ is also the ‘maximum insurance value’ for that card. If your card is damaged or lost, your card will be covered to a disclosed market value at the time of submission or the ‘final graded value’ cap for that tier (whichever is less).
